About Libby Lu

I write. I do photography. I do art.

I’m also an author. (Saturday Nights with Daddy at the Opry, Rutledge Hill Press, 2003) You can find my book on Amazon.com really cheap now.  It’s old news. It was never on the #1 best seller’s list, but it was in the #1 slot on my bucket list.

I’m married to a music man. We have one, great young adult child and a fuzzy little dog.

I love: a good walk, my family, my friends, music, all critters, the ocean, chocolate, trees, a good play, books and laughter, cooking, pranks, tending plants and feeding birds.

I do not like:  licorice, liver, basements, clowns, and feeling out of control. I’m allergic to people with inflated egos.

Humor rocks my world.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you can find some laughter and enjoyment here.

  1. Hey Libby – I’ve enjoyed reading your brand new blog posts! As I read your “About” section I realize how much you and I have in common. Wish we could have known that back in high school, I’ll bet we would have been great friends! I can tell by your photos and words on FB that you have been a great Mom and that won’t change once the nest is empty – you will simply find a new way to do your job – from a distance. Then, before you know it she will return. First for visits and holidays, wanting to share all of her new life experiences. Later, with the love of her life – her soulmate and eventually with the grandkids. It’s all good (even the tough times) because it gives us a chance to realize that our little babies have evovled into these amazing young adults. It will make your heart smile when she comes to you for advice or to share a secret or some great news because you will know it’s because she chooses to do so….yes, you are still Mom, but it’s life on a whole new level. Enjoy the journey, my friend!

  2. I too left my only child at college 13 days ago. As I sit here reading how you felt (and crying) you decribe everything I have felt but can not put into words as eloquently as you. Thank you.
Peace and good health to you, your husband and Punky,

  3. I’m notifying my favorite bloggers one by one, since I couldn’t figure out how to get links to work (I’m technically challenged) – You’ve been nominated by me for the Versatile Blogger Award. If you want to take advantage of this dubious honor… Write a post that mentions notquiteold as your nominator, nominate 15 other posts (a lot I know) and tell your readers seven things about yourself that they may not know. Congrats, and I love your blog.

  4. I really enjoy your blog so please accept the Versatile Blogger Award from me. There is more information on my lastest post but I see from previous comments that this is not your first award!

  5. Hi Libby Lu,

I was searching for Blair School of Music the other day in images for Google, and your blog along with the pictures of the young ladies in the horrible blue dresses appeared. I was one of those young girls that season in Blair, and I still have my dress and the extra material we made into a piano seat. But wanted to share how exciting it was to see the images on your blog that I have not seen for almost ten years!!!!!

    • I’m honored and flattered…It’s chaos here for sure, so it will take me a little while to get to this, though. Thanks! (P.S. I have a soundtrack going on all the time too! 🙂 )

    • Hey Wendell,
I have just taken a long break from everything social. Everything is okay. I sure appreciate your concern. Thanks for thinking of me and checking on me. I’ll probably be back on FB soon (Have gone back in to find some photos recently and that’s it. HA) and hope to have my blog up and going again the first of the year. You and Kim have a wonderful holiday season!
